Literature review shows that there are scarce information on mud crabs in Malaysia. In the Setiu Wetlands, mud crab is one of the important natural resources and a source of income for the local community. Very limited information regarding mud crabs from Setiu Wetlands has been published, and most of these works were done by Ikhwanuddin’s research group, Institut of Tropical Aquaculture (AKUATROP), UMT.
This book, comprising of 10 chapters, is written to provide a useful insight on mud-crabs of Setiu Wetlands. It contains information on some local knowledge about mud crab from Setiu Wetlands as well as their general biology and fisheries which has not been recorded before. Since it is a semi coffee table book, the write-up is brief. Contribution by various researchers who are specialized in the respective fields had contributed to the success of this book publication.
